Turkey has been producing wine for at least 6,000 years, but Turkey’s modern wine industry was kicked off by Ataturk himself in 1925. In the last five years, the buzz over the quality and vibrant personality of these unique wines has been growing in the UK.
Turkey’s Mediterranean climate makes for hugely enjoyable wines. The whites are refreshing but rounded. Turkish red wines are supple and fruity. They are super food-friendly, and go brilliantly with many cuisines, including modern British, classic French, Asian (including curry!), and Eastern Mediterranean.
