It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for nearly two years in French oak, so it shows the purity and precision of one site rather than a blend across the valley. Boysenberries, black licorice and worn leather give it perfume and savoury depth, and the velvety tannins and mouth watering acidity make it drinkable now and for years to come. Decant it, then serve it with a prime steak, lamb or a rich braise.

Taste

Boysenberries dominate the nose, with black licorice, worn leather and a puff of cherry flavoured pipe tobacco. It was founded by Ken and Ginger Harrison, who came to Walla Walla in the late 1990s searching for land to plant world class Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are made by Dan Wampfler and Amy Alvarez-Wampfler, whose combined experience includes Dan's time at Columbia Crest, where he helped make the wine that became Wine Spectator's number one wine of 2009. Heather Hill is one of the estate's own vineyards, and Abeja was named Washington Winery of the Year by Great Northwest Wine in 2023.
