The deep gravel soils and heavy clay subsoils are capable of producing good drainage in a wet vintage and holding in moisture during a heatwave. Chantelune is quite simply a wine that represents all that is wonderful about the Margaux appellation. Everything from its miniscule size which allows every vine to be tended to and given the attention it deserves to the plantation of the best vines for the soil types means that maturity and quality of the fruit are top of the property’s concerns. Chateau Chantelune is therefore a wine which is full bodied and round on the palate but that offers also the tender side of the appellation. The rounded tannins add a sexy backbone that leaves a wonderfully warm pleasing feeling on the palate that persists until you can’t help yourself but to go back for more.
