90 Points - International Wine Report. Originally from the island of Elba, The gorgeaus Ripalte from Tuscany is made from Alicante (Grenache) and Carignan. Picked exclusively by hand, this cuvée has lovely notes of raspberry, redcurrant, kirsch and spicy aromas. Rosso delle Ripalte has a lively ruby red colour. 'Vol de Nuit' is a pure expression of the Carignan grape variety from a selection of 3 very old parcels of vines dating back to 1900. The result is a wine with a very deep colour and an explosion of fruit, black cherry and spice. Simply wonderful!  About the Producer A story that began when, in 1816, Raymond Amiel won the deeds to this property from the Bishop of Perpignan over a game of cards.
