Rare Red Wine

Rare Red Wine

We work closely with a number of small winemakers across the world who produce exceptional wine in, often, limited qualities. Our relationship with these winemakers means we have a selection of rare red wine on offer that you may not find elsewhere. We hunt the four corners of the earth to find wine from lesser known wine producing countries such as Lebanon and Canada, meaning you can try a rare red wine without having to leave your sofa.

90 Points -  Robert Parker - Légende is made from an old vineyard plot dating back to 1949 where the first ever dry Maury wine was produced. The soil is tilled by Comtois draught horses – Rambo and Vagabond, and the blend is Grenache Noir (80%) and Carignan (20%), after being hand harvested, twice sorted and fully de-stemmed. The result is a wine with great aromatic depth.  About the Producer A story that began when, in 1816, Raymond Amiel won the deeds to this property from the Bishop of Perpig

90 Points - Yohan Castaing - The 'Vertigo Rouge' is a stunning organic wine made from plots of vines, 5- 20 years old. Aromas of flowers, such as rose petals and flavours of red berries followed by a pronounced minerality. It is a youthful fun wine, easy to drink but, at the same time, with different layers: 80% Grenache, with 20% Syrah. These two partners give body and concentration. The grapes are handpicked and the Vertigo is a very approachable fresh wine showcasing the local grape varieties

'Vol de Nuit' is a pure expression of the Carignan grape variety from a selection of 3 very old parcels of vines dating back to 1900. The result is a wine with a very deep colour and an explosion of fruit, black cherry and spice. Simply wonderful!  About the Producer A story that began when, in 1816, Raymond Amiel won the deeds to this property from the Bishop of Perpignan over a game of cards. Then a mere 10 hectares, the fortunes of the estate have waxed and waned over the ensuing 200 years. W

The plot for 'Alt433M' was planted in 1962 with Grenache and Lledoner Pelut vines at an altitude of 433M. Lledoner Pelut is a natural mutation of Grenache Noir which reaches phenolic ripeness sooner, to produce wines with a lower alcohol content and is more commonly used in the wines of Priorat, Spain. This combination of altitude, fermentation in steel vats and the addition of Lledoner Pelut into the blend produces a wine with remarkable freshness and a lower alcohol content of 12.5%.  About th
