WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
1 * Casa La Rad Alma Rioja DOCa 2015
93 Points - Tim Atkin. We are very proud to bring you the Alma La Rad Rioja DOCa 2015 which is Bodegas Casa La Rads flagship wine with a very limited production of only 2000 bottles for this 2015 vintage. Awarded 93 Points by Tim Atkin in his Rioja Special Report, Casa La Rad Alma is a 50/50 blend of Tempranillo and Graciano, grown at an altitude of 500 meters and fermented in large French oak barrels. The Alma is a super complex wine with stunning presentation, from a forward looking winery dedicated to the environment to sustain and improve its vitality and biodiversity. A wine that can be enjoyed now or laid down for up to 5 more years, this is a rare opportunity to acquire this beautiful wine.
1 * Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape 'Le Télégramme' 2019
91-93+ Points - Jeb Dunnuck. Le Télégramme comes from the younger vines of Vieux Télégraphe, from 30 years old wines, with a blend is 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre and 4% Cinsault. Ageing is in vats for 10 months followed by foudres for a further 7 months before bottling. The result is a delicious fruit driven Châteauneuf du Pape which drinks very well in its youth. Exceptional value for the property.
1 * Domaine Charly Nicolle Chablis 'Per Aspera' 2020
Domaine Charly Nicolle was created with less than one hectare in 1979 by Robert Nicolle and Josette Laroche, who can both trace their history from winemaking families in Fleys back to the late 19th century. The "Per Aspera" is a beautifully textured Chablis from a small independent producer making seriously good quality Fine Chablis. Typical premium Chablis aromas of white flowers and crushed oyster shells, couldn’t be more authentic than this.
1 * Domaine Bernard Fleuriet et Fils Sancerre Tradition Blanc 2019
90 Points - CellarTracker - This exceptional Organic wine exemplifies the finest expressions of the Sauvignon Blanc grape grown in Sancerre. The harvest is done entirely by hand for better sorting and greater respect for the grapes (less oxidation with a crop that arrives whole). The harvest, once arrived in the cellar, is sorted manually, de-stemmed and transported on carpets to avoid any crushing. This is a blend of 50% grapes grown in clay-limestone soil which gives the wine its richness and power and 50% grapes grown in the stony, calcareous "caillottes" which gives it freshness, vivacity and fruitiness.
1 * Château d'Esclans Whispering Angel Rosé 2021
Whispering Angel is today’s worldwide reference for Provence rosé. Made from Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino), its pale colour is pleasing to the eye and draws one in. The rewarding taste profile is full and lush while being bone dry with a smooth finish. Highly approachable and enjoyable with a broad range of cuisine, Whispering Angel is a premium rosé that you can drink from mid-day to midnight.
1 * Furleigh Estate Classic Cuvée Brut 2017
FINALIST : PEOPLES CHOICE AWARDS 2019: This traditional, bottle-fermented, vintage sparkling wine is made from the traditional Champagne grape varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. This beautiful sparkling has appealing floral aromas of apple blossom interlaced with ripe melon and constance pear plus a delicate thread of minerality. On the palate the fine mousse marries citrus flavours of grapefruit and Sicilian lemon with a crystalline structure and zesty acidity. The autolytic character is subtle. It has excellent poise and a persistent finish. An award winning producer, Furleigh Estate is using the very best of European technology to produce a high quality, world class British Sparkling wine.
* We may have to change a particular wine or vintage due to stock availability. Should we do so, it will be for a wine of a similar style and of an equal or greater value than that of the advertised bottle.
