It was built in 1870 and bought in 1961 by the nurseryman Gabriel Meffre, who rebuilt the estate from a neglected property with only a handful of hectares of vines. Today it is run by his son Jean-Paul Meffre and his grandsons Ludovic and Julien, and it has grown by buying plots from nearby classified estates in Saint-Julien.
