Cabernet Sauvignon leads with blackcurrant and lead pencil, Merlot adds richness, and Cabernet Franc adds perfume. Now well into its drinking window, it is a great match for roast lamb or a good steak. It has a mineral streak and a long, succulent finish, and it shows class and impeccable balance. It was ranked a Fifth Growth in 1855, and it has been owned by the Tesseron family, led today by Alfred Tesseron, since 1975. The estate began converting to biodynamic farming in 2004, and it brought in draft horses in 2008.
