About the Producer
Domaine Charly Nicolle was created with less than one hectare in 1979 by Robert Nicolle and Josette Laroche, who can both trace their history from winemaking families in Fleys back to the late 19th century. Since the creation of the domaine, they have increased the size of their vineyards bit by bit, and currently the domaine produces wine from 20 hectares of vines. In 1999, they were joined by their 20 year old son Charly, who had just graduated from the lycée viticole. Today, Charly is officially in charge of the domaine together with his wife Lucie, but Robert is still out in the vines nearly every day. The largest holdings of the domaine are in AOC Chablis, located for the most part around the village of Fleys. The vinification is on the lees in stainless steel tanks, which produces a house style that is both fresh and vibrant, but also rich on the mid-palate.
Taste
Winemakers tasting note: With hues of yellow straw, this brilliant wine shines with bright clarity, filling the nose with delicate, pure aromas. Floral notes from its clay-limestone origins reign. In mouth, its character, the terroir and all the qualities of a Grand Cru are revealed: mineral and rich, powerful ripe fruit.

92 Points - International Wine Report. 2012 Vintage: This comes from the area of Bougros with in Chablis and the vines here are between 50-60 years-old. The wine itself offers lovely aromas of lime, exotic citrus, musk, toasted hazelnut, lemon cream, smoke and hints of ocean mist. It continues to impress with an array of gorgeous pure fruit on the dense, lush palate. I would allow this another year or so in bottle and enjoy it over the next decade. As indicated in our Quality Promise we will happily refund or exchange any faulty bottles. All we ask is the bottles in question are returned to us at least half full for verification purposes. If a bottle is broken on delivery we will also replace or refund it but we do require photographic evidence of the breakage. Equally we can arrange for the bottles to be collected the next time you receive a delivery from us.
Should we be unable to fulfil any part, or all of an order, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will suggest comparable substitutions. You are free to refuse these suggestions and are eligible for a full refund of relevant parts of the order.
In all instances, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) must be informed of any claim within 24 hours of receipt of delivery by email or telephone. All refunds will be issued after we have received and approved the faulty items and the amount will be re-credited to your account within 30 days. The amount refunded will be equal to the full amount paid for the relevant products at the time of purchase and must be made by the same payment method as the original sale.
If you choose to cancel your contract of sale with Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) you may do so within 30 days of receipt of the goods. If the goods have already been dispatched they must be returned to us unopened and undamaged, and Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will not be liable for any costs associated with the original or return delivery.
No refund can be given when a case has left bond as the value will be affected. Individual bottles of Fine Wine will be considered for refund on a case-by-case basis.
