It is a tribute to his late parents, and the name itself means a gift of dedication and respect to one’s ancestors. Rated 4.5 stars in Platter’s, and matured for nearly three years in French oak before release, it is a full bodied, elegant red with smooth, ripe tannins. Serve it with slow roasted lamb shanks, grilled fish, balsamic chicken livers or ratatouille, and decant it first.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTaste\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eDark ruby and mulberry in colour. The nose and palate show red berries with mint, cedar and mocha. Full bodied and barrel matured, with smooth, ripe tannins, it is elegant and generous rather than heavy. Matured in 225 litre French oak for around 34 months. It is named after their childhood homes in England, The Grange and Hurst Close, and it is known for traditional methods and for Jeremy Walker’s mastery of Pinotage. Nikela is a Nguni word, from the Xhosa and Zulu languages, meaning a tribute to one’s ancestors, and the wine honours his late parents.
