Aromatic, textural and refreshingly low in alcohol, it's a characterful introduction to skin-contact wine — bottled in a striking 500ml stoneware flagon inspired by the ancient Georgian qvevri.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTaste\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eApricot marmalade and dried tangerine on the nose lead to a lively, gently grippy palate with a twist of ginger and citrus zest. Textural but fresh at just 12% alcohol, with the faint tannic tug that makes orange wine so food-friendly — lovely with spiced dishes, charcuterie or a board of hard cheese.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Wine\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e80% Riesling, 20% Müller-Thurgau, with the Riesling grown in Austria's Kremstal and Kamptal. Its heart is the Kremsleithen, a steep single vineyard (\"ried\") running down to the river Krems that was first recorded in 1266 and lay abandoned for decades before being replanted in May 2022 with French varieties — Chenin Blanc, Roussanne and Sémillon — destined to be aged in amphora and steel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile those estate vines mature, early cuvées like Orange Crush capture the project's curious, hands-on spirit: characterful wines made with patience, a light touch and a good dose of fun.
