What's in the box?

1 * Michel Genet 'Author' Vintage Grand Cru Champagne 2013

92 Points - Vert de Vin - This exceptional Vintage Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne from Michel Genet is truly the work of an Artisan. 100% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru Vineyards of Chouilly, expect dense aromas of pastries, freshly baked bread and almond croissant, followed by candied fruit, pineapple and smokey nuances of tea, dark rum and tobacco. Complex, elegant and simply superb! This Vintage Grand Cru is on par with the world's most expensive champagne -  just sensational!

1 * Michel Genet 'MG BB Spirit' Grand Cru Champagne NV

91 Points - Cellar Tracker - From the Grand Cru vineyards of Chouilly comes this stunning Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) Grand Cru Champagne. Complex toasty and citrus notes are well balanced in this fantastic value premium Champagne. Gold yellow colour with aromas of pastries and freshly baked bread. On the palate, citrus dominated flavours of lemon, tangerine & grapefruit with a complex finish of cocoa and linseed oil. Under £40 this is without a doubt, one the best Grand Cru champagnes you will ever taste!

1 * Château Chantelune Margaux 2009

92 Points Wine Spectator. From one of the finest vintages of the century. Château Chantelune is a jewel located on top of the highest hill in Margaux, Château Chantelune is a unique property. Its previous owner, Mr. Soubrane was a carpenter who believed in felling his trees by moonlight, claiming this gave the best quality wood. His practice gave the property its name, meaning “sing to the moon.” He sold his land to José Sanfins, director at third growth property, Château Cantenac Brown. Forty year old vines thrive in the poor gravel-sand soils, the vines digging deep for water and nutrients making them strong and competitive. Production is limited to just 400 cases. The small size of the vineyards allow Jose Sanfins to produce small quantities of exceptional fruit, and so the best quality wine.

1 * Stag's Leap Wine Cellars FAY Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

95 Points Jeb Dunnuck. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Fay is 100% Varietal, all from the Fay Vineyard in Stags Leap, and was brought up in 90% new French oak. It has a classic bouquet of blackcurrants, cedary spice, tobacco leaf, and damp earth. This rich, full-bodied, nicely concentrated 2014 has the vintage’s charming, forward style yet has enough mid-palate depth and ripe tannin to keep for two decades.

1 * Domaine du Pavillion Corton Grand Cru 'Clos des Marechaudes' Monopole 2019

92 Points - Decanter. This wine is a Domaine du Pavillon “monopole”. It has the extremely rare distinction of possessing 2 different levels of appellation within the same 2 ha (5 acres) vineyard. "En Mareschaut" is derived from the Old French term “maresche” (marsh). The lower parts of Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny were marshy due to their proximity to the Lauve spring. Major drainage work was undertaken to dry up the land and make it suitable for planting vines. This grapes in this vineyard tend ripen early.

1 * Domaine du Clos Frantin Vosne-Romanée 2019

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast. It is in this small village with 210 ha (518 acres) of vines located in the northern Côte de Nuits that the most renowned Burgundy reds such as Romanée-Conti and Richebourg are produced. Both the villages of Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Echezeaux are authorized to use the Vosne-Romanée appellation. The vines are located in the Damaudes and Maizières vineyards - an alliance between 2 opposed yet very complementary terroirs.

1 * Château Les Vimières 'Le Tronquéra' Margaux 2010

This wine is a piece of history and when sold out - it will be wine money cannot buy ! The owner of Château Les Vimières, Jacques Boissenot, was central to the development of new winemaking techniques in Bordeaux before he sadly passed away in 2014. Jacques had his hand on pretty much every First Growth production since the 1960s and was voted Decanter magazine's Winemaker of the Decade in 2010. This Margaux from the outstanding 2010 vintage amply demonstrates how he led the way for quality winemaking over a 50 year career.

1 * Yves Cuilleron Côte-Rôtie Lieu-Dit Bonnivières 2017

In the centre of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, in the municipality of Ampuis, stands the locality of “Bonnivières”, a handsome east-facing hillside of mica schist where this Cuvee is grown. A typical Côte Brune wine, Bonnivières is full-bodied, but not excessive, with discreet oak and a superb velvety structure. Complex and profound, with a nose of dark fruits, spice, tobacco, and a faint roasted edge, the Bonnivières 2017 is drinking beautifully now, but could still be laid down for years to come.

1 * Domaine Charly Nicolle Chablis Grand Cru 'Bougros' 2020

One of the 7 Chablis Grand Crus, 'Bougros' wines are more rounded and less austere than the other Grand Cru Chablis and are therefore more accessible when young. From vines aged over 50 years of age, this Chablis Grand Cru from Charly Nicolle has all of the qualities of a Grand Cru, minerality with rich and powerful ripe fruit.

1 * Patz & Hall Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2018

92 Points - Jeb Dunnuck. Patz & Hall is one of California’s most highly regarded wineries with a celebrated portfolio of single-vineyard wines. Chardonnay from a selection of parcels across Sonoma showing great balance and depth. On the nose are notes of apricot, lemon zest, brown sugar cookie, dried lavender and heavily roasted hazelnut, and on the palate, mouthwatering, vibrant and fresh with sleek acidity supporting flavourful pulses of spicy pear, green apple, marzipan and orange-clove.

1 * Domaine Latour-Giraud Meursault Premier Cru Genevrières 2020

97 Points - Jasper Morris MW. In the heart of the Côte des Blancs to the south of the village of Meursault is the famed 1er cru Genevrières, named after the juniper trees that used to grow there many years ago. The Domaine Latour-Giraud Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières is a wine of exquisite structure and length, with a wonderful elegance and smooth rounded palate. Pure, very fine with nice fruit on the nose. The palate shows a deep complexity with an exceptional minerality and energy. Round, deep, smooth with elegant finesse and structure.

1 * Yves Cuilleron Condrieu La Petite Côte 2021

La Petite Côte is a 100% Viognier from muscovite granite soils located in the centre of the Condrieu appellation. Benefiting from a south / south-east exposure on terraces, it is hand harvested before being aged in Burgundy barrels and blended from different plots before bottling to obtain a wonderful complexity. Aromas of apricot, quince, peach and citrus fruits, a full bodied palate with a touch of sweetness from the honey notes, La Petite Côte is a benchmark for Condrieu, and a wine everyone should experience to fully appreciate.

* We may have to change a particular wine or vintage due to stock availability. Should we do so, it will be for a wine of a similar style and of an equal or greater value than that of the advertised bottle.
