Grown at around 1,700 metres in the foothills of the Andes, it offers remarkable freshness, fragrance and finesse. The combination of cool mountain temperatures, unusually low alcohol and soils rich in organic matter creates a distinctive expression that’s more about purity and subtlety than weight and concentration.

Taste

Ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum lead the way, backed by notes of violet, wild herbs and a touch of spice. The palate is smooth and supple, with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish carrying hints of dark chocolate and cracked black pepper. Rich enough for grilled meats yet fresh enough to keep you reaching for another glass.

Wine Press Ratings

94 Points - Patricio Tapia - Descorchados (2018 Vintage)

"From vineyards high up in the Andes, some 1,700 meters above sea level in San Pablo, in the Uco Valley, this malbec was vinified in rolling fermenters (900-liter barrels installed on a chassis that allows them to rotate) and then aged in barrels for 14 months. It has the imprint of its origin—the floral and, above all, herbal, aromas amid notes of spices and lots of red fruit flavors. And despite having taut and firm tannins, the palate is delicate and fine with sharp acidity that lends energy. A malbec that expresses that remote place in the middle of the Andes very well."

About the Producer

Few producers have done more to redefine Argentine wine than Zuccardi. Led by Sebastián Zuccardi, the family winery has spent decades exploring the diverse terroirs of the Uco Valley, focusing on high-altitude vineyards and the unique character of each site. Rather than chasing power, Zuccardi’s wines emphasise freshness, texture and a strong sense of place. From mountain Malbecs to finely etched Chardonnay, these are wines that capture the remarkable landscapes of Mendoza with clarity and precision.
