The 2020 Garibaldi is a wine Grove Estate has been contemplating for 10 years. This is a 50/50 blend of Nebbiolo and Shiraz made in the difficult year of 2020. The two previous years were in drought but the fires of 2020 topped it off with only a fraction of normal crop, but they remained undaunted, and created this well-balanced wine. Langhe Nebbiolo is the baby brother of Barolo, made in a younger and more approachable style, whilst maintaining many of the wonderful characteristics of Barolo. Indeed, this Langhe Nebbiolo from Michele Reverdito is produced from the Barolo vineyards of San Giacomo and could be classified as such, however, Michele considers the soil to have too much clay to produce Barolo.
