This single vineyard Gavi di Gavi from Nicola Bergaglio is powerful and complex wine. The grapes are harvested later than normal so they are slightly over ripe, before fermenting in French barriques. An excellent wine, and the perfect match for delicate seafood. Barolo's little brother, Langhe Nebbiolo, is a younger and more approachable wine that doesn't require years of aging to soften the tannins, unlike some Barolos. While still retaining all the charming characteristics of Nebbiolo, the addition of 10% Barbera into the blend gives it a softer side. Expect beautifully perfumed red fruits and a smooth, balanced, and long finish. This Barbera from Reverdito is sourced from the single vineyard of Butti, in Alba, Northern Italy. Targeted yield reduction and selective hand-picking, whereby only the ripest of  grapes are used, followed by ageing in oak barrels, results in a strong and mature Barbera.
