Wines Were Celebrities

If Wines Were Celebrities

Wine professionals can wax lyrical about their favourite tipples, comparing Sauvignon Blanc to a cool summer breeze or Cabernet Sauvignon to a warm hug. This is fine in small measures, but sometimes it can be a bit alienating. We wanted to do something different, so we put together this article, comparing your favourite wines to your favourite celebrities.

Wines Were Celebrities

1. Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is the world's most popular light-bodied red wine, loved for its spice aromas that are accentuated by a long smooth finish. It only makes sense to compare Pinot Noir to George Clooney, who has been People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ twice since the feature started.  Like a fine wine, he gets better with age.

2. Chardonnay

Chardonnay developed a bad reputation in the 1990’s, much like Kate Moss, thanks to its overly oaky flavours which divided the nation. However, Chardonnay has reinvented itself somewhat in recent years, and now it makes some of the finest wines in the world. Kate Moss has also gone through a similar transition, ditching her party animal reputation in favour of a strict exercise routine and regular yoga.

3. Cabernet Sauvignon

As a wine, Cabernet Sauvignon is known for its dark colour, full body and strong alcohol content which is often over 13.5%, sometimes Cabernet Sauvignon from California, Chile or Australia go as high as 15%. People who drink Cabernet Sauvignon love it for its flavours of tobacco, cassis and dark fruit. Much like Shakira is the mysterious and complex queen of Latin, Cabernet Sauvignon is the king of red wine

4. Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is a popular and unmistakable white wine. It is loved for its green herbal flavours and its tangy acidity. This grape grows almost anywhere, and it offers a variety of styles. We would have to compare Sauvignon Blanc to Chrissy Teigan, she is loved across the world, but don’t underestimate her scathing tongue and sharp wit.
