Cigales

Cigales

Tucked just north of Ribera del Duero, Cigales has long been known for its vibrant rosados — but there’s more here than just pink. With high-altitude vineyards, limestone soils and a continental climate, this small Castilian region is turning out reds with real energy and finesse. Tempranillo leads the way, often blended with Garnacha, and the results are bright, structured and quietly serious. If you like Ribera but want something a little fresher — and a lot less obvious — Cigales is well worth a look.
