Pessac-Leognan Collection

Pessac-Leognan Collection

Just south of Bordeaux city, Pessac-Léognan marries heritage with approachability. Officially its own appellation since 1987, it’s home to gravel-rich soils, smoky reds and some of the best dry whites in Bordeaux.
The reds—typically a Cabernet-Merlot mix—lean more on finesse than brute force, often showing graphite, cedar and a savoury elegance. The whites, based on Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, are textured, citrusy and age beautifully.

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast. The Chateau Bouscaut 2018 is one of the stars of the magnificent 2018 Bordeaux vintage. In common with its Grand Cru Classe peers, the Chateau Bouscaut 2018 is a rich, ripe, succulent wine that exudes style and class. Drinking well now, its bouquet is full of smoked black fruits, dusty minerals, cherries and Chinese spices. The palate is medium-bodied, multi-layered, broad and packed with blackcurrant, plum, earth notes, and highlights of red berries. The tannins are

A lesser-known Bordeaux property, the Chateau Le Thil Comte Clary 2013 was rated highly by Decanter's former Consultant Editor, Steven Spurrier, who said it possessed, 'Fresh crunchy fruit, (a) good lifted Pessac-Léognan with character and charm. Now mature, it's taken on that lovely smokey, undergrowth character that is so attractive in mature red Bordeaux. Enjoy this on its own or with roast pork, venison, or cheeses. 96 Points - Wine Enthusiast. La Mission Haut Brion produced a typically brilliant wine in 2008. While the vintage as a whole has been somewhat overshadowed by the 2009 and 2010, the 2008s are often exceptional and offer great value for money by comparison. Robert Parker awarded this classic blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc 95 points praising its ‘Medium to full-bodied and concentrated with good acidity, freshness and delineation.’ Neal Martin gave the 2008 96 po

Both approachable and age-worthy, this wine reflects the estate’s balance of ripe fruit, freshness and terroir expression. Taste Deep ruby, the nose offers blackcurrant, cherry, graphite and subtle spice.
