Ribeiro

Ribeiro

Long overshadowed by its coastal neighbour Rías Baixas, Ribeiro is finally enjoying the recognition it deserves. This inland Galician region, where the Miño, Avia and Arnoia rivers converge, offers a gentler Atlantic influence and a warmer, drier climate — ideal for slow, balanced ripening. Treixadura is the star here, often blended with Godello, Albariño or Loureira to produce whites that are crisp, textured and quietly complex. Granite and schist soils add a distinctive mineral thread, and the best examples combine brightness with structure and real ageing potential. A region steeped in history, but with its eyes firmly on the future.
