Terra Alta

Terra Alta

Tucked away in Catalonia’s deep south, Terra Alta is one of Spain’s best-kept secrets. High, dry and windswept, this rugged region is Garnatxa country — especially Garnatxa Blanca, which thrives on the sun-soaked slopes and poor limestone soils. The altitude (up to 500m) and the cooling cerç wind give the wines freshness and poise, balancing the Mediterranean ripeness. Long seen as a source of blending material, Terra Alta is now carving out a reputation for distinctive, terroir-driven wines with real personality. Authentic, undervalued, and increasingly exciting.
