Set within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the Ocón Valley, Casa La Rad is a singular estate defined by its forested surroundings, wildlife and high-altitude vineyards. Winemaker Bárbara Palacios has chosen to work outside the traditional Rioja classification system of Crianza and Reserva, instead crafting wines without those constraints. This allows a greater focus on minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar, prioritising transparency and letting the estate’s diverse terroirs speak with more precision, complexity and individuality.
