Laporte’s wines are a reminder that Sancerre can still be about place, not just variety. Farming some of Chavignol’s finest slopes, they produce Sauvignon Blancs of cut-glass purity — citrus, flint, and saline depth — with a quiet confidence that rewards both early drinking and cellaring. The Pinot Noirs, too, are increasingly refined, offering structure and poise rarely seen in the appellation.
