Taste
This Rioja reveals enticing aromas of dark berry fruits, black cherry, plum, and damson, interwoven with mocha, cinnamon, and hints of vanilla and caramel. The palate is complex and full-bodied, offering silky tannins, layers of ripe fruit, cocoa, liquorice, sweet spice, and a subtle backdrop of tobacco and cedar. The finish is long, smooth, and elegant, capped by well-defined tannins and lingering notes of spice and leather.
What is the Rioja Ageing Classification?
Rioja wines are classified by their ageing process, which imparts distinct styles and complexity. The main types are Joven, Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva. Joven wines are made for early drinking with little or no oak ageing. Crianza must age for a minimum of two years, with at least one year in oak barrels. Reserva wines are matured for at least three years, including a minimum of one year in oak. Gran Reserva represents the pinnacle, aged for at least five years with two years in oak and three in bottle before release. Each type delivers unique flavour profiles, from fruit-forward freshness in Joven to the complex, savoury and evolved notes found in Gran Reserva.

CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España) is one of Rioja’s most distinguished and historic producers, founded in 1879 in Haro. What sets CVNE apart is their “bodega within a bodega” for the Imperial range, using artisanal methods, French and American oak, and rigorous selection to craft only the best vintages into Imperial Gran Reserva. Their Imperial bottling has earned a reputation worldwide for age-worthiness, finesse, and being awarded some of Spain’s highest accolades - including being named Wine Spectator’s best wine in the world in 2013.

Your E-gift card will be delivered immediately to your email inbox for you to print off or forward on.
As indicated in our Quality Promise we will happily refund or exchange any faulty bottles. All we ask is the bottles in question are returned to us at least half full for verification purposes. If a bottle is broken on delivery we will also replace or refund it but we do require photographic evidence of the breakage. Equally we can arrange for the bottles to be collected the next time you receive a delivery from us.
Should we be unable to fulfil any part, or all of an order, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will suggest comparable substitutions. You are free to refuse these suggestions and are eligible for a full refund of relevant parts of the order.
In all instances, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) must be informed of any claim within 24 hours of receipt of delivery by email or telephone. All refunds will be issued after we have received and approved the faulty items and the amount will be re-credited to your account within 30 days. The amount refunded will be equal to the full amount paid for the relevant products at the time of purchase and must be made by the same payment method as the original sale.
If you choose to cancel your contract of sale with Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) you may do so within 30 days of receipt of the goods. If the goods have already been dispatched they must be returned to us unopened and undamaged, and Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will not be liable for any costs associated with the original or return delivery.
No refund can be given when a case has left bond as the value will be affected. Individual bottles of Fine Wine will be considered for refund on a case-by-case basis.

Advent Calendars - Due to the made-to-order nature of our Advent Calendars, they are not eligible for a full refund. However, we reserve the right to issue a refund in the form of store credit.
