Kapitel Zwei — "Chapter Two" — is the second act of founder Chris Sciacca. After 25 years in corporate communications, including two decades at IBM, he swapped his suit and keyboard for pruning shears and overalls, went back to university in 2021 for a three-year degree in viticulture and wine business at IMC Krems, and served an apprenticeship at Paumanok Vineyards on New York's Long Island — the chapter where a lifelong wine lover finally makes his own.

He settled in Krems an der Donau, an hour from Vienna, and bought a small, long-abandoned single vineyard — the Kremsleithen, a steep loam-and-clay slope down to the river Krems, first recorded in 1266. He replanted it in May 2022 with French varieties — Chenin Blanc, Roussanne and Sémillon — farmed organically and sustainably and destined for ageing in amphora and steel. 2025 is his first vintage, released in tiny quantities and already shipped to drinkers from Austria and England to the USA and South Africa.
