Stag's Leap Wine Cellars FAY Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars FAY Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
100 Points - Wine Enthusiast. Californian wine doesn’t come any better than this. 2019 was a classic year and Stag’s Leap Fay vineyard produced a tiny quantity of exquisite Cabernet that’s been awarded a 100-point score. Striking the perfect balance between fruit and structure, the complexity and elegance are already breath taking and it will continue to develop for many years to come. Arguably the greatest Stag’s Leap Fay ever, this legend in the making is a wine to buy now and enjoy over the next two decades.

Tasting Note
This FAY Cabernet Sauvignon has a bright fruit-driven nose of maraschino cherries and blackberries along with hints of baking spice and coconut. The wine has a polished mouthfeel, with a soft texture and nice fruit flavours. The perfumed finish is long, silky and pleasurable.

100 Points - Wine Enthusiast (2019)
There's something so alluring and enticing about the Fay, named for Nathan Fay, who first planted Cabernet Sauvignon in what is now Stags Leap District back in 1961. It shows old-school dust, clove and graphite, with secondary hints of violet, sage and tree bark. Enjoy this wine best from 2029–2039. — Virginie Boone
95 Points - James Suckling (2019)
"Concentrated, with lots of black and purple fruit and crushed violets. Broodingly dark and youthful at this stage, but remains elegant. Fleshy, dense and full-bodied with a mouthful of finely polished tannins that dissipate into the black fruit. Silky, opulent texture here, with fresh, medium acidity."
94 Points - Decanter (2019)
"Fragrant violet florals, ripe berry fruit and dusty minerality lift out of the glass along with heady sweet oak spices. Saturated red and black fruit flavours with Chinese five spice, sandalwood and pulverised rocks. Firm, fine-grained tannins glide to a chocolatey finish."
95 Points - Vinous (2013)
"Rich, ample and seductive, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fay is impressive. Ripe, noble tannins, bright red-toned fruit and notable creaminess give the Fay its air of total sophistication. The 2013 vintage produced mostly huge, structured wines, but if there is one Cabernet I might be tempted to open a bit on the early side, the Fay might be it. Once again, the sheer gracefulness of Fay speaks with eloquence. (AG) " (12/2016)
95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2013)
"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fay Estate-Grown comes from a vineyard established by Nathan Fay in 1961. Beautiful blackcurrant, floral-infused fruit jumps from the glass of this dense ruby/purple wine. There are some loamy underpinnings of soil, but the wine is medium to full-bodied, beautifully fruited, with great texture, and terrific purity and personality. This is a serious and beautiful wine to drink over the next 20-25 years, if not longer. (RP) " (12/2016)
