This 1.2-hectare vineyard in Pauillac stands next to the 5th growth grand cru classé's of Chateau Batailley, and across the road from Château Grand Puy Lacoste, on soil worthy of a classified growth. The yield here is around 32 hl/ha and the vineyard is planted in equal measure of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The entire batch of their Pauillac parcels is aged in new French oak barrels under the label Château Les Landes de Cach. The result is a superb wine from exceptional soils and winemakers.

A real hidden gem from a wonderful parcel of vines sandwiched between plots owned by Château Latour and Château Lynch Bages, this is a must-have wine for any Bordeaux enthusiast or collector. Only 3000 bottles were made, and this full-bodied yet elegant wine will mature beautifully over the next 10 years. A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot, with the average age of the vines being 40 years old, the Dauprat exhibits great finesse, smoothness, and supple tannins.

James Suckling awarded it 96-100 describing it as, ‘Full and racy with wonderful length and purity.’ The 2019 Bordeaux vintage was simply stunning. Writing in the Wine Advocate, Neal Martin described it as ‘one of the finest Pauillac wines of the vintage.’ A cool, wet spring, baking hot July, and a harvest carried out in fits and starts, this was a vintage that tested the winemakers’ skills to the limit. Grand-Puy-Lacoste’s Xavier and Emeline Borie were more than up to the challenge though and produced a wine that warrants its status as a Grand Cru Classé.

Lynch Moussas 2008 produced an impressive wine in the underrated 2008 vintage.
