Taste
Graphite, cassis and cocoa bean lead to a richly layered palate of black currant and dark chocolate, finishing long and silky. Powerful yet balanced, with real ageing potential.
The Wine
60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Syrah, rounded out with 11% Petit Verdot, sourced across Walla Walla Valley, Red Mountain, Candy Mountain and Wahluke Slope's Stone Tree Vineyard. Aged 30 months in 85% new French oak. 15.2% ABV.
About the Producer
Long Shadows Vintners was founded in 2002 by Allen Shoup, former CEO of Chateau Ste. Michelle, on an audacious idea: invite a different world-renowned winemaker to craft each wine in the range, working alongside resident director of winemaking Gilles Nicault, and let each one "cast their own shadow" over a single Washington bottling. The result is a small collection of "best of type" wines that pair global star power with genuine Columbia Valley provenance.
Chester-Kidder carries no outside guest-winemaker credit. Allen Shoup entrusted it to Gilles Nicault, Long Shadows' director of winemaking and viticulture since 2002 and Seattle magazine's Washington State Winemaker of the Year in 2016, specifically because of its sentimental importance to the estate. Nicault, who trained in the south of France before working across the Côtes du Rhône, Provence and Champagne, built Chester-Kidder to showcase what Long Shadows' best vineyard sources can do without a single collaborator's signature — a flagship blend the team describes as near and dear to their hearts.

E-Gift Cards
Your E-gift card will be delivered immediately to your email inbox for you to print off or forward on.
As indicated in our Quality Promise we will happily refund or exchange any faulty bottles. All we ask is the bottles in question are returned to us at least half full for verification purposes. If a bottle is broken on delivery we will also replace or refund it but we do require photographic evidence of the breakage. Equally we can arrange for the bottles to be collected the next time you receive a delivery from us.
Should we be unable to fulfil any part, or all of an order, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will suggest comparable substitutions. You are free to refuse these suggestions and are eligible for a full refund of relevant parts of the order.
In all instances, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) must be informed of any claim within 24 hours of receipt of delivery by email or telephone. All refunds will be issued after we have received and approved the faulty items and the amount will be re-credited to your account within 30 days. The amount refunded will be equal to the full amount paid for the relevant products at the time of purchase and must be made by the same payment method as the original sale.
If you choose to cancel your contract of sale with Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) you may do so within 30 days of receipt of the goods. If the goods have already been dispatched they must be returned to us unopened and undamaged, and Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will not be liable for any costs associated with the original or return delivery.
No refund can be given when a case has left bond as the value will be affected. Individual bottles of Fine Wine will be considered for refund on a case-by-case basis.
We advise contacting our Customers Services team before making any claim to ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible.
Advent Calendars - Due to the made-to-order nature of our Advent Calendars, they are not eligible for a full refund. However, we reserve the right to issue a refund in the form of store credit.
