96 Points - Decanter. Oregon Chardonnay at its most exciting has the richness of Burgundy with a fresh, electric edge, and this is a very good example. It comes from a certified organic, dry farmed vineyard in the Dundee Hills, where old volcanic soils give the fruit a stony, mineral core. Ripe orchard fruit and a little brioche keep it generous, but the acidity stays bright and lively throughout. Serve it lightly chilled with roast chicken, shellfish or a creamy pasta, and expect it to open up in the glass.

Taste

Golden in colour. The nose is astonishingly aromatic, with white lilac, chipped flint and grilled lemon peel, alongside blood orange, hazelnut and a touch of butter. The palate is electrifying, with lively grilled citrus, smoky gunflint and a savoury, seaside salinity, plus juicy Meyer lemon, orange pith and a note of olive oil cake. A fabulous volcanic stone presence runs through the core, and the finish is long, pure and deliciously vibrant. Aged mainly in French oak, with the fruit and site in the foreground. Delicious now, and it should keep well into 2040.

About the Producer

Résonance is the Oregon project of Maison Louis Jadot, the Burgundy house's first winery outside France. In 2013, Thibault Gagey and Jacques Lardière surveyed a well established Willamette Valley vineyard called Résonance, felt an instant connection with it, and named the whole venture after it. Winemaker Guillaume Large now runs the estate, working with two certified organic, dry farmed vineyards: the original Résonance in Yamhill Carlton, planted in 1981, and Découverte, a second estate in the Dundee Hills planted in 1996 on volcanic Jory soil. The wines follow classic Burgundian methods, including hand picking and small lot fermentation.

E-Gift Cards

Your E-gift card will be delivered immediately to your email inbox for you to print off or forward on.

As indicated in our Quality Promise we will happily refund or exchange any faulty bottles. All we ask is the bottles in question are returned to us at least half full for verification purposes. If a bottle is broken on delivery we will also replace or refund it but we do require photographic evidence of the breakage. Equally we can arrange for the bottles to be collected the next time you receive a delivery from us.

Should we be unable to fulfil any part, or all of an order, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will suggest comparable substitutions. You are free to refuse these suggestions and are eligible for a full refund of relevant parts of the order.

In all instances, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) must be informed of any claim within 24 hours of receipt of delivery by email or telephone. All refunds will be issued after we have received and approved the faulty items and the amount will be re-credited to your account within 30 days. The amount refunded will be equal to the full amount paid for the relevant products at the time of purchase and must be made by the same payment method as the original sale.

If you choose to cancel your contract of sale with Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) you may do so within 30 days of receipt of the goods. If the goods have already been dispatched they must be returned to us unopened and undamaged, and Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will not be liable for any costs associated with the original or return delivery.

No refund can be given when a case has left bond as the value will be affected. Individual bottles of Fine Wine will be considered for refund on a case-by-case basis.

We advise contacting our Customers Services team before making any claim to ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible.

Advent Calendars - Due to the made-to-order nature of our Advent Calendars, they are not eligible for a full refund. However, we reserve the right to issue a refund in the form of store credit.
