"The 2023 Tiers Vineyard Chardonnay is glassy and polished, pure and crystalline. This is a beautiful wine that is svelte and precise, more precise than the 2020, which exhibited a similar shape and personality. This is a magnificent wine, and it really emphasizes the importance of drinking your wines at the right time; too early doesn't allow the wine to show its complexity and potential, and too late often reveals the perils of poor storage. I believe that the right time for your Tapanappa Chardonnays is around five years from harvest, and if you have the patience, you will be rewarded with the pleasure I am experiencing here today. 12.9% alcohol, sealed under screw cap."
Taste
Pale gold with a luminous clarity. On the nose, white peach, lemon curd, and crushed flint, with a whisper of toasted almond and fresh brioche. The palate is taut and mineral-driven — a fine thread of acidity pulling everything into focus. Stone fruit gives way to oyster shell and wet slate on a long, cool finish.
About the Producer
Tapanappa is the project of Brian Croser, one of Australia's most respected winemakers, founded on a simple conviction: that truly great wine is made in the vineyard, not the winery. Named after the Aboriginal word for 'stick to the path', Tapanappa works three exceptional South Australian sites — each chosen for its capacity to express place with clarity and restraint. Tiers Vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, planted in 1979, is the jewel: a cool-climate site that has spent four decades finding its voice, and is now widely regarded as one of Australia's finest Chardonnay vineyards.

Your E-gift card will be delivered immediately to your email inbox for you to print off or forward on.
As indicated in our Quality Promise we will happily refund or exchange any faulty bottles. All we ask is the bottles in question are returned to us at least half full for verification purposes. If a bottle is broken on delivery we will also replace or refund it but we do require photographic evidence of the breakage. Equally we can arrange for the bottles to be collected the next time you receive a delivery from us.
Should we be unable to fulfil any part, or all of an order, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will suggest comparable substitutions. You are free to refuse these suggestions and are eligible for a full refund of relevant parts of the order.
In all instances, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) must be informed of any claim within 24 hours of receipt of delivery by email or telephone. All refunds will be issued after we have received and approved the faulty items and the amount will be re-credited to your account within 30 days. The amount refunded will be equal to the full amount paid for the relevant products at the time of purchase and must be made by the same payment method as the original sale.
If you choose to cancel your contract of sale with Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) you may do so within 30 days of receipt of the goods. If the goods have already been dispatched they must be returned to us unopened and undamaged, and Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will not be liable for any costs associated with the original or return delivery.
No refund can be given when a case has left bond as the value will be affected. Individual bottles of Fine Wine will be considered for refund on a case-by-case basis.
We advise contacting our Customers Services team before making any claim to ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible.
Advent Calendars - Due to the made-to-order nature of our Advent Calendars, they are not eligible for a full refund. However, we reserve the right to issue a refund in the form of store credit.
